These films have been specially created by our staff at the maternity department so that you, your birth partner, family and friends can share your maternity experience at any time wherever you are. If you have any questions please contact your community midwife or your local maternity department, ‘drop in’ sessions' run at approximately fortnightly intervals at both York and Scarborough hospital.

Maternity tours

Our midwives take you step by step through the doors of our maternity units, where to go, what to bring and even where to park.

The second stage of labour lasts from when your cervix is fully dilated until the birth of your baby. The third stage of labour happens after your baby is born, when your womb contracts and the placenta comes out through your vagina.

Breastfeeding
