Self-help resources: feelings and emotion

Wanting difficult feelings to stop is natural - if only it were that simple. Sometimes the ways that we try to control our feelings end up causing us more problems.

  • The Find Out in Five resources offer some more information to help us understand our emotions
  • Radio Reps in this section are quick to repeat exercises to build skills in managing feelings, even when they are difficult. This can help to stop them from taking over our behaviour in unhelpful ways.

If you'd prefer to read rather than listen, please visit theĀ Radio Reps full list page.

To link feelings and emotions with other sections, or for more guidance, please see:

Nominate someone who made a difference

Has a member of staff or team at one of our hospitals or community services made a real difference to you or a loved one?

Our Patient Choice Award 2026 recognises colleagues whose kindness, compassion and dedication have had a lasting impact. If someone went above and beyond during your care, we'd love to hear your story.

Nominate them today and help us celebrate the people who make a difference every day.
