Community Diagnostic Centre

The new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Askham Bar Community Care Centre, York, and offers a range of services to help diagnose life-threatening conditions, such as cancer and heart problems, more quickly.

Provided in partnership with Nimbuscare, the CDC offers a provides a broad range of diagnostics, including checks, scans and tests which patients can be referred to by their GP.

What we do

  • MRI and CT scans
  • Ultrasound
  • Spirometry
  • Lung function and FeNO (fractional exhaled nitric oxide)
  • Ambulatory blood pressure recordings and electrocardiography (ECG)
  • Holter testing
  • Echocardiography (Echo)
  • Dual - Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA)
  • Phlebotomy - Blood testing
  • Point of Care Testing (POCT)

Opening times

The centre is open Monday to Friday between 8am to 6pm.

CT scanning is also available on Saturdays between 8am to mid-day.

Resident doctor strike action

Resident doctors will be taking strike action from 7am on 17 December to 7am on 22 December. Some appointments and procedures may be affected. If your appointment needs to be changed, we will contact you.

If you've not heard from us, please attend your appointment as planned.
