Work experience

Work experience is a fantastic way to gain insight into one of the 350+ career roles available in the NHS. It can help you gain confidence and experience of working in a team and caring for people.

Many people think that working for the NHS means working in a clinical setting, for example as a doctor, nurse, midwife, paramedic or therapist. Often, people forget the 'behind the scenes' staff, from the gardener or engineer to the lab scientist. People in a huge variety of roles provide essential support and play an important role in the functioning of each hospital.
