Our hospitals

Scarborough Hospital

Scarborough Hospital is the Trust’s second largest hospital. It has an Accident and Emergency department and provides acute medical and surgical services, including trauma and intensive care services to the population and visitors to the North East Yorkshire Coast.

Map of our hospital

You can view an internal map of the hospital here.  If you arrive at the main reception, one of our staff will be more than happy to advise you on how to find the department or ward you are visiting.

Accessibility guides

Detailed access guides to facilities, wards and departments have been created to provide information for disabled people, regardless of impairment, when they come to hospital.

Scarborough Hospital’s accessibility guide can be found on their website https://www.accessable.co.uk/york-teaching-hospital-nhs-foundation-trust.  It is also available via the AccessAble App, which is free to download from the App Store and Google Play, and can be used throughout the hospital visit.

How to give feedback about the care you have received

  • You can speak directly to a member of staff such as the ward sister,  matron or community nurse.
  • You can give feedback, good and bad, by filling in a Friends and Family Test card or responding to the text message that we send you
  • You can telephone or email PALS

Please visit our patient experience page for more information https://www.yorkhospitals.nhs.uk/contact-us/patient-experience/

From 1 August 2020 York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is smoke-free.  Patients, visitors and staff are not permitted to smoke anywhere on our hospital and community premises including the grounds and gardens.

Visiting update

To protect our patients, staff, visitors and the community, we are again restricting visitors to all our hospitals sites so please read our latest guidance for full details before coming to our hospitals.

The decision to restrict visitors during this time has been very difficult and made only after careful consideration as we witness wider social restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in light of the highly transmissible OMICRON variant.  The guidance will be reviewed regularly.
