Laboratory Medicine

General Information / Laboratory Reports

Electronic reporting is the method of choice, maximizing accessibility and audit trail and reducing the potential for transcription errors.   Test results are issued electronically to both Trust clinicians (via CPD and ICE) and GPs (via GP link and ICE).  Electronic reports are issued on the hour and every 15 minutes thereafter throughout the day, every day.

Hard copy reports are currently issued only for Histology reports and out-patient clinic locations, external hospitals or on specific request.
